Branksome Park v Argyll (home & away) 24th April 2021
An enjoyable and successful warm-up match for the Saturday Morning Triples Squad winning on 5 rinks, drawing on 1 and losing on 2. Good wins at home by Kirkham, Judd & Cole (9 shots) and Smith, Hawkins & Garbutt (10 shots) compensated for the uncharacteristic 20 shot deficit of Everett, Cover & Whelan at Argyll (it must have been the wind?) and Branksome ran out overall winners by 9 shots.

1st Team v A Team - 17th April 2021
The match was played on a lovely afternoon in a friendly spirit.
There was success on all rinks for the 1st team but only just on rink 3 made up of Pritchard, Hollier and Garner who after 5 ends where 10-1 down against star lead Munden, Cake and Richardson. The A team hung on till the last end dropping a 5 to lose by one shot. It was lovely to be back on the green which played extremely well and much thanks must go to Tony Golding for all his hard work over the Winter months.
Next game is home and away to Argyll on Saturday 24th April at 1400hrs.

Finals Weekend 2020 Summary and Acknowledgements
Finals Weekend 11/12th September 2020
You can plan all you want but you cannot plan for the weather so I was relieved to see blue skies and sunshine for our finals weekend.
It would not have been possible without the efforts of the following people –
Greens and environs – Tony Golding, Geoff Shand and Brian Cookson.
Catering and Bar – Tony Milton and Geoff Shand
Trophies – Ken Joy
Markers – Brian Appleyard, Cliff Cover, Geoff Shand, Brian Cookson and making her debut in a semi-final game Monica Arkley
Special mention to the President Dave Banks who stayed both days from dawn to dusk and presented the prizes as well as making everyone welcome. He raised £216.17 over the two days and during the season £1576.83 together with £377 from items donated and sold on eBay. This totalled £2169 which will go to the Bournemouth Heart Club based at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
The Presidents prize was awarded jointly this year to Chris Dennis and Ken Joy for co-ordinating all of our bowls activity during the 2020 Covid season.
Last but not least we must say a big thank you to all those that were lucky enough to qualify and play in the finals and for all the constant support offered by members who watched and cheered from the side lines over the weekend.
Lets hope we can build on this year and make 2021 even more enjoyable. So I hope over the winter everyone stays safe and returns refreshed for next years foray.
Presidents Prize Presentation
It is a Club tradition that the incumbent President can mark a members' exceptional service to club members throughout a season through the award of the 'Presidents Prize'. It comes as no surprise that this years President, David Banks, has singled out the tremendous efforts of Chris Dennis and Ken Joy which have given us the opportunity to enjoy friendly but competitive bowling in a season where at one time it looked as if our whites/greys would remain in the wardrobe, our bowls in the garage and gardens tilled and watered to death.
The Cup was presented by David on the opening day of the Club Finals Weekend. Chris was also presented with an additional alcoholic 'Thank You' from the Club Members themselves in recognition of the hours he put in managing rink bookings, recording results and smoothing ruffled feathers over the last 4 months.
