A message from ‘El Presidente’
“I would like to thank all members and guests who attended my President’s Day, the Bowls Australian Pairs, or who watched and cheered us on.
I feel it was a very successful day of Bowling, eating and plenty of laughter. A special thank you to Stewart Thomson for organising the game of Australian Pairs. I would also like to thank the social committee girls for helping make the salads and serving everyone, also Claire my niece and Sue a friend who served coffee and tea all day.
Thanks to Terri for the flowers and Tony, Cliff and Dave Banks my Vice President for all their work and support. Thanks also to Sandra and Liz, selling and organising the raffle and Brian with the help of Barry Wellman for the lighting and balloons etc..
Thanks to Beverley and Chris for all the delicious Desserts following the Hog Roast which sent everyone home feeling they had eaten too much!
Thank you to all who donated raffle prizes and brought raffle tickets which was very much appreciated. All profit from the raffle will be donated to my charity. I am now close to my target of £2000.
Lastly thanks to Paul ‘Stand Still’ Mullender for taking lots of great photo’s to provide a record of my Special Day”.
|President's Day Gathering July 2019|
Jen Cookson ran a very successful ‘Beach Party’ at the club on Saturday 13th July on a lovely sunny evening.
Can you spot the good, the bad and the ugly!
Jen Cookson organised a great fun evening on Friday 1st March and those attended entered into the spirit of the evening by dressing in black and white. A great meal was had by all consisting of tarragon chicken and apple pie and cream for afters. We also completed a clever pictorial quiz with cryptic clues to identify London underground stations, beetle drive and a Rat Pack sing song. Many thanks to all those who organised and participated in a fun evening.
The project that currently exists in relationship to bowls is to purchase items for coaching to improve the skills of our bowlers.
"The Co-op Local Community Fund helps support local projects that our members care about. Since it launch in 2007, Co-op members have raised £39 million for over 12,000 causes. we are delighted that Branksome Park Bowling Club will now be able to access this funding opportunity"

WE DID IT!
Yes, we managed to walk to every bowls club in Bournemouth and Poole; a total of 27.65 miles (just over a marathon) and your sponsorship raised well over £2,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.
So, to all of those who walked with me and those who so generously donated to the President's charity in 2018 a big
